Transfer students from schools not offering Bible courses will not be required to make up Bible courses.

The math requirement includes Algebra I and II, geometry, and one additional math course from Pre-calculus or calculus.

The science requirement includesl biology, chemistry and physics,, and one additional science.

The social studies requirement includes world history, U.S. history, world geography, government, and economics.


AP AND DUAL CREDIT COURSES

In cooperation with Brookhaven College in Dallas, CCA offers dual credit courses in:
  • U.S. History 1301 and 1302 (for juniors),
  • Government 2301 (for seniors), and
  • English 1301, 1302, 2322, and 2323.
Due to the commitment to the dual credit program, CCA currently does not offer any AP courses.

HALL OF EXCELLENCE

Each year the faculty of CCA selects members for the high school's Hall of Excellence based on high standards of character, leadership, scholarship, and service. No more than seven students per grade level can be awarded this honor. If only three in a class meet these criteria, only three receive this award.


GRADING SCALE

A: 90-100
B: 89-80
C: 79-70
F: Below 70

The CCA administration may choose to award a credit for a grade between 60-69.

GRADE POINT AVERAGE
  • The GPA is computed from all transcript grades on a percentile scale and a 4.0 scale (A-4 points, B-3 points, C-2 points).
  • The grades on the transcript are the actual numeric grades earned.
  • The weighting of grades occurs in the computation process.
  • DC courses, calculus, physics, anatomy and physiology, and Spanish III are weighted courses.

The mean composite is determined by averaging each student's highest set of SAT scores. The percentile in parentheses reflects the participation rate.

ACT AWARD

CCA was awarded the 2009 College Readiness Award from the Texas ACT Council. Less than 5% of Texas high schools received this award.
